Heart Work Series: Healing-Centered Reunification

October 1 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm CDT

Heart Work Series: Am I Just Another Number? Healing-centered Re-unification for Young People who are Justice-impacted

National Training & TA Center for Child, Youth, & Family Mental Health

Healing-Centered Reunification, led by Lane Krumpos, focuses on reframing reunification practices through a healing-centered approach. Participants will explore the values and phases of reunification, viewing them through the lens of “The Water of Systems Change” by John Kania, Mark Kramer, and Peter Senge.

The session emphasizes shifting from trauma-informed care to healing-centered engagement, where individuals are seen not just as victims of trauma, but as agents in their well-being. Key objectives include understanding the importance of healing-centered practices, identifying strengths-based strategies, and fostering transformative change by addressing systemic structures’ implicit, semi-implicit, and explicit aspects. Through interactive discussions, scenarios, and reflections, participants will be more aware of how to implement equitable, culturally responsive, and relationship-focused reunification efforts in their communities and schools.
