What an amazing year Families as Allies has had in partnership with all of you! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Since we last gathered for our 2018 Community Partnership Celebration, Families as Allies responded to over 215 families, conducted leadership training with 46 families and trained 310 providers in family-driven practice. We also produced two videos to increase awareness about early childhood mental health and the importance of partnering with families.
We currently have projects with almost all of the state systems that serve children. We are particularly excited about Oregon’s Human Services Research Institute asking us to partner with them to conduct a kinship care study about the needs of extended family members raising children when their parents are not able to do so. We were thrilled to help UMMC kick off its CHAMP telehealth project in the Mississippi Delta and are now planning training for families and providers.
We are excited that this year many of our staff were asked to present at national conferences about family-driven practice, using data in real world ways and mission-driven fiscal practices. In September our executive director Joy Hogge had the honor of being Mississippi’s State Captain at the National Council on Behavioral Health’s Hill Day and shared important mental health information with federal policy makers.
Our annual Community Partnership Celebration Fundraiser both honors your support of this good work and ensures it continues. This year the celebration will take place Monday, October 28th from 5:00 to 7:30 at Bravo Italian Restaurant and Bar.
Come out and show your support in whatever way that you can, either by sponsoring our Celebration and Fundraiser at the Gold ($5,000), Silver ($2,000), Bronze ($1,000), or Host ($250) level, or by buying individual tickets that can be purchased at this link.
Nothing is more important than children, ALL children, being able to live with their families and reach their potential and succeed. Help us make that a reality.
