Two great opportunities to learn virtually are coming up. We encourage you to check both of them out.
2020 Virtual Mississippi Trauma-Informed Care Conference “There is HOPE! Thriving After the Storm” will take place September 22-24. You can check out the agenda here and register at this link.
At that conference, we are excited to be presenting “Creating Trauma-Informed Systems Using Family-Driven Practice” and will discuss ways state systems have partnered with families and family-run organizations to become more trauma-informed. Our proposal was submitted before the pandemic and it has occurred to us that there are likely additional ways that families, family-run organizations and state systems could partner together to help systems be more responsive to the trauma created by the pandemic. If you have ideas or suggestions about that, please contact Joy Hogge at jhogge@faams.org or call 601-355-0915.
The Federation of Families will host a virtual mini-conference November 10 -12 and the call for proposals is now open. Registration will go live on Monday. Watch our Facebook page and website for more details. The theme of the conference is “Equity in Access, Services, and Outcomes for Children, Youth and Families During COVID-19.”
