The following is from Sitaniel J. Wimbley, executive director of NAMI Mississippi, to encourage continued support of their annual fundraiser, NAMIWalks Mississippi.
Dear Friends,
In the most difficult of times, we try to find a light, a beacon for hope. That’s the cause to which NAMI Mississippi has been committed since the beginning of “the new reality.” Mental health has become the rarest of commodities, as each one of us has tried to meet each challenge with composure.
Thank you to all who registered for NAMIWalks 2020 and participated in our “Day of Hope” on October 10th. If you did not join us, I am writing to ask for your support of our largest fundraiser of the year, the annual NAMIWalks Mississippi (namiwalks.org/mississippi). Although the virtual walk happened on October 10th, the fundraising efforts are still going strong. You have until December 31, 2020 to register and/or make a donation to one of the six walks across the state. Our goal is to raise $40,000.00 to help support this continued effort across the state.
At NAMI Mississippi, we believe in Mental Health for All. Each year, the NAMIWalks event raises a tremendous amount of public awareness and helps to fund our programs for the entire year ahead.
I am asking for your help in one of four ways:
- Click here to join or start a walk team.
- Click here to find a walker to support with a donation.
- Click here to make a donation directly to NAMIWalks.
- Share NAMIWalks Mississippi on social media.
Every person who registers on a team, and every dollar that is donated, impacts the success of this event and supports our work throughout the year. Your contribution will help provide support, education and advocacy to the people who need it most—and enhance public awareness of Mental Health for All.
Thank you and stay safe!
