The Child Access to Mental Health and Psychiatry service, or CHAMP, is a program out of the University of Mississippi Medical Center that Families as Allies is proud to be a partner in. The CHAMP team is comprised of a psychiatrist, psychologist, social workers and other researchers and administrators who make it possible for primary care physicians throughout the state of Mississippi to access mental health resources for children in their care via a simple phone call.
In this video hosted by Joy Hogge, the CHAMP team talks about the services they provide and discusses the way that they’re “flipping the script” for Mental Health Awareness (and Acceptance!) Month.
