We were delighted when Coryonda Talley with Enterprise Holdings, Inc, contacted us to say that the Enterprise Holdings Foundation approved a $2,500 grant for Families as Allies. Although we have rented cars from Enterprise for many years, we did not know about the Foundation or that they were considering us for a donation. We want to thank Enterprise for its generosity and support.
Donations make a tremendous difference and allow us to expand our work and cover expenses that traditional grants don’t always cover. We are grateful to Enterprise for this donation.
We were also touched and excited to learn more about the Enterprise Holdings Foundation and its work. According to their website:
“The Enterprise Holdings Foundation recently celebrated its 40th year of giving. Since it was established, the Foundation has contributed more than half a billion dollars to thousands of local non-profits and made wide-reaching commitments—from global philanthropic initiatives to community-focused projects.
Philanthropy has long been part of Enterprise Holdings’ culture and DNA. This commitment was inspired by the values of company founder Jack Taylor, who emphasized the importance of giving back to local communities and formalized the creation of the Enterprise Holdings Foundation in 1982. Taylor’s inspiring vision on corporate giving, ‘We strengthen our communities, one neighborhood at a time,’ rings just as true today as it did four decades ago.
The Enterprise Holdings Foundation supports a range of causes, including health and human services, environmental issues, education, public and social benefits, disaster relief, the arts and veterans across the corporation’s global locations.”
We enjoyed visiting with Ms. Talley and her colleague, Pharyn-Alexis Thornton, and learning about Enterprise’s commitment to support children, families and mental health. We hope you, too, are inspired by Enterprise’s commitment to the community.
We were excited that Enterprise learned more about Families as Allies and our mission through our website. We are grateful to Todd Stauffer and his staff at Changemaker Media Services for their outstanding job with our communications and the time they’ve devoted to understanding our mission.
We often say that Families as Allies is about all of us, and it truly is, including our donors and business partners who support children and families.
