Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth and Their Families
May 10, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm CDT
Webinar by Crossover Xpand: Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources
LGBTQ+ youth are at increased risk for multiple health disparity outcomes, including increased rates of depression, suicidal thinking, and worse physical health outcomes. Mental health providers and other allies are key to providing support to families and reducing risk for unwanted outcomes. Thus, the purpose of this presentation is to provide members of the audience with an empirical understanding of the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth and how to use their skillset to support this community.
