The American Psychological Association is helping families cope with stress and anxiety in the wake of COVID-19 by presenting this webinar.
The uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation and adapting to working from home full time can bring on a lot of emotions, especially when kids are involved. Join American Psychological Association staff psychologists Dr. Raquel Halfond and Dr. Lynn Bufka for a conversation about managing emotions related to COVID-19, social distancing and telework with a focus on helping families cope. Raquel Halfond, PhD
Dr. Halfond is Director of Clinical Practice Guidelines in Practice Research & Policy, Practice Directorate at the American Psychological Association. She is also a clinical-child psychologist. Dr. Halfond received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her APA approved clinical internship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and was a postdoctoral fellow at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
Lynn Bufka, PhD
Lynn Bufka is the Associate Executive Director for Practice Research and Policy at the American Psychological Association. Bufka received her PhD in psychology from Boston University. Her areas of professional interest include health care policy, practice patterns and trends, professional development, adult anxiety disorders and cross-cultural issues in psychology. She frequently serves as a media spokesperson for APA on these topics and other policy matters relevant to professional practice. She was on a panel of experts who developed The Stress in America™ Survey. Before joining the APA in 2002, she served as Associate Director of the Doctoral Clinical Training Program and Director of Practice Training at Boston University’s Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders. Bufka has particular experience in delivering and evaluating cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders.
