Families as Allies is honored to be associated with Family Voices through being Mississippi’s Family-to-Family Information Center.
Family Voices is “a national nonprofit led by families and friends of children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) and disabilities. We connect a network of family-led organizations across the United States that provide support to families of CYSHCN. We promote partnership with youth and families at all levels of health care, from individual care to policy and decision-making, to improve policies and systems of care for children.”
Family Voices goes on to share: “In partnership with Georgetown Center for Children and Families (CCF), Family Voices is proud to share two briefs focused on children and youth with special health care needs and disabilities (CYSHCN): a brief explaining how Medicaid/CHIP helps CYSHCN and a companion brief sharing family insights.”
We encourage you to read both of these briefs to learn more about how Medicaid helps children with special healthcare needs and hear firsthand from families how Medicaid makes it possible for children with complex medical problems to live with their families, go to school and thrive in their communities. Please also share this information, especially with policymakers.
