Each year the Champion of the ADA and the Champion of the IDEA are named at the Mississippi disAbility MegaConference. This year those nominations have been extended to Friday, May 15, 2020, and the honorees will be announced virtually.

Champion of the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)
A nominee can be an individual, business, organization or agency residing or located in the state of Mississippi which has made sustained and significant efforts to obtain full accessibility, non-discrimination and civil rights for all people with disabilities in Mississippi as mandated by the ADA. They serve as an inspiration to others through their persistence to achieve excellence under ADA law. Their efforts may have been as volunteers, self-advocates, or as part of their professional activities.

Champion of the IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act)
A nominee can be an individual, business, organization or agency residing or located in the state of Mississippi which has made sustained and significant efforts to ensure the rights of Mississippi’s children with disabilities to a free, inclusive, appropriate public education are protected and advanced. They serve as an inspiration to others through their persistence to achieve excellence in education under IDEA law. Their efforts may have been as volunteers, self-advocates, or as part of their professional activities.
