SAMHSA Hosting Daily Webinars During Children’s Mental Health Week

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Office of Recovery announced that it is hosting a series of webinars during Children’s Mental Health Week. Guest speakers include Barbara Huff, Barb Scheidegger, FREDLA, Youth ERA, NAMI, Federation of Families, and Youth MOVE.

Below is the schedule that SAMHSA sent out and the registration links for each individual webinar. We encourage you to attend all that look interesting!

Monday, May 8th, from 1 to 2 p.m. EDT
Topic: History of Children’s Mental Health Week
Learn about how Children’s Mental Health Week was born!
Presenters: Barbara Huff, Founding Director of the National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health and Barb Scheidegger, Executive Director of Missouri Families 4 Families.

Tuesday, May 9th, from 1 to 2 p.m. EDT
Topic/Title: Self-Care Practice for Youth and Advocates for Youth with Messages of Hope in Recovery from Youth with Lived Experiences
Hear about the importance of strategies and self-reflection tools that can be used for managing self-care. Youth and young adults with broad lived experiences will share inspiring, impactful, and empowering messages about how incorporating self-care practices into their daily lives has supported and enhanced their recovery journey.
