In every month that has a fifth Wednesday, Families as Allies schedules a special Facebook Live event where we invite families and the partners that we work with to have an open discussion about Families as Allies.
In the September 2020 edition of our Facebook Live discussion, we decided to focus on the organizations that have awarded Families as Allies grant funding, and let you know a little about what the funding is for, what the outcome is expected to be and, when possible, how you can take part.
Organizations that we’re working with include the Mississippi Department of Health, Mississippi Department of Human Services, the Mississippi Department of Mental Health on three different projects, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, SAMHSA, Community Counseling in East Mississippi, SEEDS in Holmes County, University of Mississippi Medical Center on the CHAMP project, and Mississippi Thrive.
Along with that information, Joy also went over some of the policy issues on the state level that affect mental health services for both children and adults. Families as Allies encourages families to look into those issues.
Please watch the video to learn more about what we’re doing and how you can participate, or please feel free to reach out with any questions.
